Eugen Elmiger, our Chief Executive Officer since 2011, leads the maxon Group with passion and vision. He joined the company in 1991 and played a key role in building and shaping the sales business in Asia. Eugen studied electrical engineering at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and followed up with advanced studies at the University of St. Gallen and Stanford Business School.  

As Chief Financial Officer, Norbert Bitzi keeps a close eye on the company’s finances. He has been a member of the Management Board since 2012. As a certified Swiss accountant and controller, Norbert pursued further studies at the University of Bern and earned an MBA.

As Chief Technology Officer, Stefan Müller has been driving innovation and development at the maxon Group since 2022. He joined the company in 2017. He earned his doctorate in electrical engineering from the University of Stuttgart.

Andreas Richter has been our Chief Operating Officer since 2020 and plays a key role in the implementation of our business strategy. Andreas is the vice chairman of the maxon Group. He supplemented his degree in industrial engineering with a master’s in strategic management.

Since 2024, Roger Villiger has served as Chief Sales Officer, ensuring close contact with our customers. Roger began his career at maxon in 2009 as a sales engineer and knows the company inside and out. After studying industrial engineering at the University of Zurich, he also completed an Executive MBA there.

Dr. Bianca Braun has been Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the maxon Group since 2026. She inherited her entrepreneurial spirit from her father. A member of the Board since 2008, she has served as Head of the Audit Committee since 2012. She holds a doctorate in Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen.

Dr. Karl-Walter Braun is the principal shareholder and a member of the Board of Directors of the maxon Group. He joined the company in 1974, continuing the legacy of his father, one of maxon’s co-founders. A defining figure in the company’s history, he continues to actively shape maxon’s direction and is still a regular presence on campus.

He joined maxon in 1991, where he played a key role in expanding the company's sales operations across Asia. Eugen holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and has completed executive education at the University of St. Gallen and Stanford Business School.

Tanja Braun has been a member of the Board of Directors of the maxon Group since 2025, becoming the third member of the Braun family to serve on the Board. She studied architecture at the University of Innsbruck before dedicating herself primarily to raising her family.

Since 2014, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the maxon Group. His areas of expertise include corporate law, contract law, mergers and acquisitions, as well as stock exchange law.

Formerly maxon's CTO until late 2021, he is now a member of the Board of Directors of the maxon Group. Over 14 years, he shaped the company’s research and development and helped build a global R&D organization. 

As an independent entrepreneur in an international SME focused on contract manufacturing of mechanical products, Kurt Meier has been a member of the maxon Group's Board of Directors since 2018.

The tax expert has been a member of the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors of the maxon Group since 2023. She has served as a board member since 2004.
