The quality management standard ISO 9001 defines quality as the degree to which given requirements are fulfilled. It establishes the requirements for a quality management system that an organization needs to comply with in order to provide products and services that meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements. Among these requirements is the need for the management system to undergo a continuous improvement process.

The internationally accepted quality standard for environmental management systems addresses environmentally relevant processes and procedures within an organization, and obliges management and employees to adhere to environmentally responsible behavior and continuously improve operations while minimizing emissions into the environment.

maxon has been certified in accordance with EN 9100 since 2012. The standard has been drawn up especially for companies that develop and produce components for the aerospace industry. At maxon, this standard is applied to customer-specific products on request - except for A-max motors and controllers.

The international quality standard for medical devices confirms that maxon Medical complies with the fundamental requirements of medical technology, minimizing potential risks for patients. All processes and procedures are documented. This guarantees traceability. This standard is implemented at our Switzerland and Germany locations upon request for customer-specific products.

The IATF (International Automotive Task Force) is a group of automotive manufacturers and associations that defines the quality requirements in the automotive industry. The IATF 16949 standard is an international technical specification and quality management standard for the entire supply chain of the automotive industry. It is based on the EN ISO 9001 standard and describes the special requirements that apply for the development and manufacturing of products for the automotive market. At maxon, it is implemented within the scope of customer-specific projects.

ISO/IEC 27001 is the globally recognized standard for information security management systems (ISMS). It specifies requirements for the development and operation of a structured framework of policies, procedures, processes, practices, roles, responsibilities, controls, and resources, collectively referred to as an information security management system (ISMS). The ultimate goal of an ISMS is to manage risks to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets in line with organizational objectives. ISO 27001 includes a set of best practice controls for the mitigation of the risks associated with the information assets which the organization seeks to protect through its ISMS.
