Drive systems for mobility solutions

For a mobile world.

It is hard to imagine everyday life without mobility. Whether on the road, the bike trail, in the logistics sector, or under water, maxon drive systems for mobility solutions get things moving reliably and efficiently.

Our mobility solutions get things moving.

  • Since

    2012

we have been developing and manufacturing components for Formula 1.

  • Just under

    1,9

    kg

is the weight of our BIKEDRIVE AIR e-bike drive.

  • Up to

    5 kW

is the peak power delivered by our drives for active suspension control.

Drives

Power, compact size, and energy efficiency.

Robot joint

The compact and modular design of maxon’s robot joints is optimized for power and size. A variety of options are available, such as hollow shafts, torque sensors, brakes, and electronics. The robot joints are integrated systems and can be built according to the customers’ wishes.

  • High level of integration in the structure of the machine
  • High torques due to multi-pole external rotor
  • Plenty of space for cable glands
  • High overload capacity
  • Hall sensors
  • Thermal sensors (NTC)

Wheel drive

The maxon wheel drive is a compact solution for AGVs and self-driving vehicles in intralogistics and outdoor applications.

  • Highly efficient
  • Compact
  • Modular
  • Extremely reliable
  • Perfectly adaptable components

BIKEDRIVE AIR

The maxon BIKEDRIVE AIR light e-bike system is mounted out of sight inside the frame. Only an inconspicuously integrated control element on the top tube hints at the extra power hidden in the bike. The system is suitable for all bike types and offers especially natural handling.

  • System weight 3.5 kg
  • Maximum torque 40 Nm
  • Maximum power 250 W
  • Battery 250 Wh + Range Extender 250 Wh
  • Efficient, quiet, connected

EC-i motors

To make autonomous driving safe, LiDAR technology is used. It features laser scanners consisting of a laser diode and receiver in a motorized, rotating head. maxon flat motors with compact servo controllers are optimal for this.

  • Highly dynamic due to internal, multi-pole rotor
  • Mechanical time constants of less than three milliseconds
  • High torque density
  • Speeds of up to 15 000 rpm

CAN: What is it and Why use it?

A Controller Area Network (CAN bus) is a bus standard, designed to allow microcontrollers and devices to communicate with each other. It is a message-based protocol, designed originally for a smart and reliable electrical wiring and data exchange of an increasing numbers of actuators and sensors within automobiles. Originally designed as a fieldbus with line lengths of several metres, the CAN-bus today is increasingly accepted as a communication bus within compact machinery and devices.
